What does being “in the pink” mean?

It’s a figure of speech that generally means being in very good health; in very good condition, physically and emotionally. Using pink in our logo or literature, it states we are here to raise awareness, to talk about Women’s Health and discuss how you can take better care of your pelvic floors, bladder and bowel.

How does the colour pink make you feel? At times the colour might be considered stereotypical. Immediately we associate the colour with all things feminine and girly. During pregnancy we give birth to a baby girl congratulations pink balloons are given and baby boys traditionally blue. Pink is the colour in all of our consciousness as representing the UK Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon awareness campaign, about increasing ‘Awareness Month’ in October, promoted by the pink ribbon at its heart – the pink ribbon symbolises hope, strength and unity for many.

Raising awareness promoting all aspects of Women’s Health is key to overall health and well being. It’s difficult to do so when much of the language around Women’s Health has been taboo, avoided, we simply don’t want to talk about it. Adore Your Pelvic Floor feel encouraged and stands proud to support the pink colour as we build more awareness, encourage women to talk frankly and have the much-needed conversation about supporting your pelvic floors, bladder and bowel health.

Colour plays a major role in psychology, used extensively in marketing and with health, it has been suggested that different colours can have an impact on our moods, feelings, and even behaviours. The colour pink affects us physically, but it soothes, rather than stimulates it is thought to be a calming colour associated with love, kindness, and femininity. The colour pink has qualities such as softness, nurturance and compassion.

Pink is a mixture of the colour red and white. Both red and pink represent love. The colour red represents heat, passion, the heart, blood, romance and sexuality.

So why use Pink? It seems pretty evident why…… Pink evokes feelings of joy and happiness, it has a deeply joyful vibe to it and has a familiar friendly place deep within everyone’s heart. Pink is the colour that represents Women’s Health, universal love of oneself and of others. Pink represents friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace, and approachability.
